Personal Qualifications
I have had four children of my own. Each one a totally different
experience. These include hospital birth, homebirth, induction,
Cesarean, VBAC, and stillbirth. I have breastfed all of my living
children. My disappointing first birth experience led me to hire a doula
for my second birth. Once I experienced the difference a doula could
make, I wanted to help other women have better birth experiences. I
truly have a passion for birth and helping women see the strength they
have to bring their children into this world. I believe a positive birth
radiates into all aspects of a woman's life, especially motherhood.
Professional Qualifications
I have been working as a doula since 2005. I am certified through
DONA (Doulas of North America) as a birth doula and meet all of their
qualifications. I am a certified Hypnobabies Hypno-doula since 2011.
I am also a member of several birth groups in the Chattanooga area
including the local ICAN chapter. I keep in contact with other doulas in
the area and am constantly learning more about labor and birth through
them and reading.
